As a LABORER within the COLUMBIA ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH CERNTER, some of your specific duties will include:
Performs custodial duties such as cleaning the facility. Uses a variety of task associated with maintaining the grounds and the facility. Independently performs recurring duties adhering to established schedules and designated time frames. Operates a government owned or leased vehicle as an incident driver. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work requires moderately heavy physical effort such as frequent lifting and carrying objects weighing 40 pounds and occasional lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Work regularly involves walking, bending, stooping, reaching, standing for long periods of time, and pushing heavy items on carts or dollies. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work may be performed indoors or outdoors. While working outdoors the employee may be exposed to all kinds of weather conditions including rain, snow, heat, and cold. Indoors the employee may be exposed to drafts, noise, and dust. The work involves the chance of incurring minor injuries such as bruises, cuts and scrapes. There is no specific length of training or experience required; however, applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform the basic work of the position without more than normal supervision through experience shown in the written resume and responses to the job related task statements in this announcement. Without more than normal supervision the selectee must be able to use equipment and perform the duties associated with facility and grounds maintenance activities including mowing grass, removing snow, buffing floors, cleaning and other general custodial duties. You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements for the position by the closing date of the announcement.
