Assistant Nurse Manager (Home-Based Primary Care)

The Assistant Nurse Manager in Nurse II grade serves as an assistant with line authority to the HBPC Nurse Manager / Program Director, providing leadership and direction to nursing personnel and support staff as assigned. This Assistant Nurse Manager, in the Manager's absence, is responsible for the daily operations and management of HBPC / HT. Demonstrates, promotes, creates, and ensures a culturally diverse workforce in which the values in the needs of all individuals are respected. Also, provides an environment that fosters employees to perform to their full individual potential. The Assistant Nurse Manager responsibilities include demonstration of knowledge and skills necessary to facilitate and maintain care appropriate to the age-related needs of patients served. This includes understanding changes associated with aging and principles of growth and development relevant to adult and geriatric population. This is a telework position with a duty station of Truman VA hospital with travel required (per Government car). Work Schedule:

Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant:
The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. OR The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. (Reference VA Handbook 5005, Appendix G6) OR In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of a current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement for graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. Experience:

years' of successful RN clinical practice. 3 years' of Case Management experience. At least 2 years Leadership experience preferred in nursing/medical field. Lean/Six Sigma Yellow Belt trained/certified and proof of activate YELLOW belt process improvement projects. Documented completion of crucial conversation and/or mediation training. BSN or Master's Degree preferred. Ability to easily establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships and communication with physicians, staff, Veterans/caregivers, and community healthcare and resource providers. Demonstrated ability to perform duties with initiative and independence. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Computer literacy is essential as staff utilize an electronic medical record system. Skill in the use of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel is required. Grade Determinations:
The following criteria must be met in determining the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade:
Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience; OR a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse III - Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience. May require occasional heaving lifting (45 lbs and over); moderate carrying (15-44 lbs); standing, walking, and kneeling; pushing/pulling; the use of fingers on both hands; ability to reach above shoulders; repeated bending; climbing using legs and arms; ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously; near vision correctable to 13 to 16 so Jaeger 1/to 4; far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and to 20/40 in the other; depth perception; ability to distinguish basic color and shades of colors; and hearing (hearing aid permitted).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
