The Lighthouse Department provides a unique and valuable service to borrowers. This department works with customers to assist them in identifying and securing a mortgage loan that is appropriate for their individual financial circumstances. A Loan Specialist helps Veterans and Active Duty service members in getting started with their VA Loan. They are often the first point of contact for borrowers. Together the Loan Officer and Loan Specialist make up an epic team that could be considered superhero caliber.
Responsibilities :
Making initial contact to collect borrower financial and credit information.
Processing borrower credit information through online approval system.
Analyzing borrower credit for pre-approval or denial of loan applications.
Educating borrowers on the loan process, risks and benefits of loan alternatives, and types of loan programs that best meet their needs.
Preparing borrowers for future requests for loan documentation including borrowers'' income and asset information.
Necessary Skills: Diligence, excellent communication and problem solving skills, a positive attitude, ability to learn quickly, a great work ethic, and the willingness and drive to excel.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience.
The ability to not only survive, but also thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
Experience working on a power team.
Must be NMLS licensed or become licensed

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
