Summary:
Supervise rehabilitation staff and participate in the operation and patient care in the designated Therapy Services Department of the MU Health System.
Works collaboratively with the Manager of Rehabilitation Services.
Detailed Description:
Act as liaison between departmental staff, other professional and non-professional staff, patients and their families/caregivers to resolve issues.
Elevate concerns to assigned Therapy Services Manager and/or Director as appropriate.
Report directly to and carry out assigned duties to the Department of Therapy Services Clinical Operations Director including communication of these duties and reports to their relevant Clinical Manager.
Collaborate with other Clinical Supervisors in the Department of Therapy Services and Managers of Therapy Services throughout the MU Health system to provide effective provision of patient care services, and ensure departmental and institutional objectives are being met, to ensure the quality of services meets with the standards of the MU Health Missions and Goals.
Interview, select, train, evaluate, and ensure continued staff competency in adherence to appropriate department therapy methods and department/organizational procedures and policies.
Monitor department operations to ensure effective provision of patient care service, and that departmental and institutional objectives are being met, to ensure the quality of services meets with the standards of the MU Health Care Missions and Goals.
Communicate department operations status and progress toward departmental and institutional goals to department manager.
Assist in the annual budget preparation.
Participate in and/or direct staff participation in appropriate committees and/or facility quality assurance projects and assist in the development and implementation of department quality assurance programs.
Provide patient care including:
performing comprehensive patient evaluations in a time sensitive manner; correlating data from the assessment to determine an individualized therapy plan of care directed toward goals based on a developmentally appropriate approach; administering treatment which requires the advanced skills of a licensed clinician; and completing documentation according to MU Health Care and department guidelines and policies.
Schedule, plan, assign, and review the workload of department staff to ensure the quality of service and business measures meet the standards of the University of Missouri Health Care Mission and Goals.
May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documentsTwo (2) years of experience in therapy services.
Licensed as:
-Occupational Therapist (OT) licensure by the Missouri Board of Occupational Therapy, or -Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) licensure by the Missouri Commission for Speech-Language Pathologists, and Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) certification from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or -Physical Therapist (PT) licensure by the Missouri Board of Registration for the Healing Arts or PT Compact multi-state privilege.
When primary state of residency changes, compact state PTs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.

This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs.
This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses.
This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
