Registered Nurse (RN), Endoscopy - Travel

An Endoscopy Technician is responsible for preparing and maintaining endoscopy equipment, preparing patients for endoscopic procedures, and assisting the endoscopy nurse and physician during the procedure.
This role requires strong technical skills and knowledge of anatomy and physiology, as well as the ability to work closely with patients to ensure their comfort and safety.
Key responsibilities of an Endoscopy Technician include:
Preparation and maintenance of endoscopy equipment:
This includes checking equipment for proper function, cleaning and sterilizing equipment, and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
Patient preparation:
This involves explaining the procedure to the patient, helping the patient to change into a gown, and positioning the patient for the procedure.
Assistance during the procedure:
The Endoscopy Technician assists the endoscopy nurse and physician during the procedure by handing them instruments and suctioning fluid as needed.
Documentation:
The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for documenting the procedure, including any adverse reactions or complications that occur.
Cleaning and stocking:
After the procedure, the Endoscopy Technician cleans the room and restocks it with supplies.
To be successful in this role, an Endoscopy Technician must have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
They must also be knowledgeable about anatomy and physiology, and have a solid understanding of the equipment and procedures used in endoscopy.
Education and experience requirements for this role typically include a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as on-the-job training or certification in endoscopy technology.
Some employers may also require previous experience in a clinical setting.
This is a not full time but contracted travel position.
