Summary:
An Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting Store Management in maximizing sales, providing a great shopping experience for the customer and managing the store in accordance with the company visual and operational standards. The Assistant Manager assumes responsibility for the operations of a store as Manager-on-Duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership
o Assumes Manager's role in supervising staff in absence of the Store Manager
o Strives to meet and exceed store goals, ensures selling standards are met
o Works with customers and models excellent sales and customer service skills
o Maximizes sales through strong floor supervision
Associate Development
o Ensures associates are trained on product knowledge, selling skills, customer service and other operations
o Provides training information and feedback to Sales Associates
o Ensures Associates are trained on product knowledge, selling skills, customer service and operations
o Creates enthusiasm and excitement within store to motivate high performance teams
Operations Excellence
o Protects store payroll by adhering to wage cost guidelines and allowable hours
o Control company assets and promote shrink awareness through key control, loss prevention measures, inventory results and company standards of conduct
o Strives for 100% paperwork accuracy and compliance in: cash, inventory, fixtures and property
Store Standards
o Helps execute floor-set and promotional directives
o Works as a member of the team to insure all store standards are met
o Understands, supports and complies with all company policies and procedures
Qualifications
o Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
o Two years retail experience
o Ability to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends
EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
o High School graduate or equivalent
